As February progresses, visitors to Magog Down will begin to see glimpses of Spring in the hedgerows, such as male catkins and small red female flowers on hazel shrubs. As the evenings become slightly lighter, the car park closing time moves forward an hour to 18:00 on Thursday 15 February. As usual, the car park will be unlocked at 08:00.
Please make sure that you leave the car park promptly. Opening and closing the car park gate is done by volunteers, who will always check to see if anyone is nearby before before locking the gate. However, If a vehicle is left in the car park after the stated closing time, it may well be locked in and you would need to retrieve it the following morning.
These times will remain in place until late March. British Summer Time this year begins on Sunday 31 March (i.e. during the Easter weekend). Our plan is to move to the summer closing time of 20:00 at some point during the last week of March. The exact date will be publicised a few days beforehand.
