At this time of year, with long light evenings, it’s easy for visitors to become distracted and not realise the time. Therefore, the Trustees want to remind everyone that the current closing time for the car park is 8:00 pm. This remains the position until mid-September.
Visitors need to be aware that the car park closing times varies between 5:00 and 8:00 pm over the course of a year. There are clear signs as you drive on to the site indicating the current closing time. You can also check the closing time on the website here.
Opening and closing the car park gate is carried out by a group of volunteers. In the evening, they will always check to see if anyone is nearby and just returning to their vehicle before locking the gate.
However, once the gate is locked, you will not be able to retrieve your vehicle until the following morning. The car park gate will be unlocked by 8:00 am.
